Your daily intake of protein plays a huge and important role in terms of your health, and function of your body, Whatever your goal is be it lose fat, build muscle or improving your physique, protein and how much protein you get daily becomes one of the most important aspects. Many fail to get this one right, either overeating and wasting protein or not getting enough out of it for their goal.
There are a couple ways to figure out the best ‘dosage’ of protein for yourself. Probably the best and most simple method is the “Ideal Daily Protein Intake”. Basically you should be consuming anywhere from 0.8 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. So if you are 180 pounds, you should roughly be having 180 grams of protein. It goes the same way if you are trying to bulk up and want to BE 200 pounds, then you need to consume 200 pounds of protein.
Of course it is important to be mindful of your body. If you currently weight 130 pounds and want to get to 200 pounds it is not going to be a good idea to start eating 200 grams of protein right away. You’re body is simply not used to it and won’t be able to take advantage of most of it (you’re going to poop most of it out).
